Taimaa ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through taimaa.ca, why we collect it, how it's used, and the choices you have — in plain language, consistent with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25.
1. What we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Analytics (only with your consent): If you accept our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general location (city/region level), device type, and time on site. This does not identify you personally.
- Form submissions: If you fill out a contact form or the Business Model Canvas access form (both hosted via Google Forms), we collect the information you provide — typically name, email, and any message or company details you include.
2. Cookies
Our analytics cookies are off by default. Nothing is tracked until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you click "Decline," or take no action, no analytics cookies are set.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Site usage analytics — only set after consent | Up to 13 months |
| taimaa_cookie_consent (local storage) | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again | Until cleared by you |
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, or by contacting us directly at the email below.
3. Why we collect it
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To respond to consultation requests and Business Model Canvas access requests
- To communicate with you if you've reached out to us
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
4. Third parties
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:
- Google Analytics — site analytics (only after consent)
- Google Forms — contact and lead-capture forms
These providers may process data outside Canada. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's own compliance safeguards (e.g., Google's data processing terms).
5. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and Law 25, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request access to, or correction of, that information
- Request deletion of your information
- Withdraw consent for analytics tracking at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@taimaa.ca. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Data retention
We keep form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry or maintain a business relationship, and analytics data per Google Analytics' standard retention settings (up to 13 months).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
